Styling – Fashion tips & tricks

Let’s have a chat about Fashion,

How to be stylish, stay on top of it all … the tricks the professionals use, as well as those insanely stylish chick that look perfect everyday!

I don’t know about you, but I kind of have a love hate relationship with women that look insanely perfect no matter the situation!

And don’t get me started on the polished, super perfect chicks on instagram – drives me nuts!

I mean seriously, how the hell do they do it? Insane amount of money spent? Fashion designers friends? Do they have personal stylists to help them … etc.

none of that, well I am sure some of them do, but you don’t need all of that to have good style

fashion style is a gift YES, but it can be learnt, and with everything online these days looks are now so easy to copy & replicate.

Trust me, once you start playing around with your style, that sense will come to you naturally, some are quicker than others of course, but it is fairly easy to develop. Practice makes perfect right!

Here are a few tips from me to you, some you might have heard of before, no matter what, a bit of a refresh crash course is always good!

1. Get organized

It has been said over and over again by people in the (Fashion) industry that the main trick to look stylish even with a busy schedule, is to be organized (as in your closet ladies)

As well as preparing your outfit the night before – my personal trick on top of that one (that we’ve heard way too many time)

I actually put together a few days worth of outfits, just in case the weather isn’t what i thought it would be, the outfit doesn’t fit my mood, or the outfit doesn’t FIT at all.

The gain of time in the morning is amazing, plus I am not great at getting stuff done right out of bed!

And my latest Penneys ‘find’ for only a few Euros, is there hanger organizer, with each day of the week, they even have SUNDAY!

Those are helping me a lot when it comes to my clothes organization – when I am organized like this, I feel I totally have my life together!

2. Time

Always give yourself the time to get ready in the mornings.

I know what you are clockgoing to say, I LOOOOVE to sleep too! As a matter of fact I have about 5 alarms on my phone in the mornings! So I understand the love you have for your bed.

And so if my outfits are ready, I gain a massive amount ton time, and seems my outfits are more stylish and ‘together’ than my last minute ones, then I personally spend a good amount of time on make-up, but that’s just me.

3. Fitting

The fitting of your clothes is a must, I mean obviously buy the right size, sweingget your clothe tailored girls.

It is a great tip to get a nice piece to look a lot more expensive than it actually is.

Let’s say you buy a pair of jeans for a decent price, they fit nice, but what if for like an extra 20€ they could fit perfectly and look like a high end pair of jeans, would you do it? I know I would!

4. Shopping

Ahhhh SHOPPING! shopping.PNGAbsolutely love shopping, but anyone that knows me knows that! So when it comes to shopping one must be careful. Not just because of the spending (although that is an issue of mine) more like the type of shopping you are doing. The main tip I wouldn’t say, is before starting buying very specific pieces/statement pieces (trendy, different shapes, flashy colors) you need basics. Without basics it is very difficult to put an outfit together.

For the girls who are not aware obsessed with fashion like myself or my friends, ‘basics’ are

  • white T-shirt
  • skinny jeans
  • crewneck sweater
  • black pumps
  • bright cross body
  • white button down shirt
  • pencil skirt (black or grey)
  • black leather jacket
  • man inspired watch
  • wrap dress
  • nude flats
  • your signature sunglasses
  • ankle boots

with those in your closet, putting your outfits together will be way easier, and chance are you already own all those!

most of these items are easily found for a decent price in stores such as Zara, H&M, Penneys (of course) and many more depending on your budget.

a few example here, to help you out

Once you have those basics, go and knock yourself out with statement pieces. A good tip on buying expensive pieces, go for the classics, they’ll never go out of style and you’ll be able to wear them with just about anything!

4. Accessories

To me accessories are everything, but I am big on BLING, statement necklaces, earnings, watches, bracelet. Even if you are wearing jeans, a white T-shirt it will look put a look together instantly.

Take a look bellow …

5. Hair, Make-up & Nails

I am the worst for that, simply because I was raised surround by women that makeupalways had the perfect everything.

So for me it is a must, and without all those i’d feel like my look would be unfinished. And I totally understand how some people might think it is not a must …

Hair done, nails perfect, and make-up.

It doesn’t need to be insanely sophisticated or flashy, just so that you look together and that you made an effort. Let’s not go for the ‘I woke up like this’ look

4. The trends

Staying on trend is a complicated one, the fashion industry changes very fast these days. Again I have a tendency to opt for things I know I will wear once the trend is gone.

An easy way to keep up to date with the trend is to follow fashion magazine, models or even celebrity on social media, you might see something that you might not catch in every day life. Instagram is my thing … I find very cool ideas on it, I know some ladies

Honestly our appearance matters the most, it is the first thing people notice and remember about us.

Sadly enough we are not all born equal, so I hope these little tips will help out, to be honest even I use them almost everyday – and it will come as a second nature to you too I promise!
