Frenchie recipe corner – My French Lemon tart

I’ve always love those tiny little lemon tartelettes when I was a child …

So I thought I’d give it a try myself, I absolutely love baking, it gets my mind of things and has a tendency to make me happy.

find my recipe below (home made lemon custard)

  • 150g of sugar

  • 100g of metlted butter

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 to 4 lemon juice depending on how much you like the lemon taste


For the pastry 2 options … obviously you can buy it in store (the shortbread pastry)…  that’s the easiest option, the second option is to do it yourself from scratch – honestly it is easy too

recipe for the homemade option:

  • 250g of flour

  • 100g of melted butter

  • 250g of sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 lemon zest

  • 1 pinch of salt

If you decide to make the pastry yourself, make sure you have a ‘rolling pin’ to make it nice and thin.

**little tip** pre-cook the pastry for 10-15 minutes before adding the custard, once that is done I add the custard and bake it all together for another 30-40 minutes depending on your oven.
